I'm forever having identity issues with this blog in that I want my posts to be polished and perfect, while at the same time being spontaneous and reflective of my every day life. My site's back end is full of unfinished posts that never make it past draft because they just don't seem 'worthy'. Which is where 1 + 4 = Life comes in. Basically it's a brilliant link up started by Pip and now hosted by Isabel with the idea to post four photos, once a week (or more likely weekish in my case) to document and share life. So simple. Here goes my first one!
One. Caro and Rose needed some lifestyle photos and head shots for their new website and social media so I went over to their beautiful home and we had a lot of fun. Aren't they so photogenic? It was definitely one of my favourite shoots ever (a few more photos from the day here).
Two. The London Design Festival kicked off last week and I made it my business to check out a few of the events. The Curiosity Cloud exhibition is my favourite so far. Hanging glass bulbs filled an entire room of the Victoria and Albert museum, each one home to a hand made insect. As if that's not cool enough, the insects 'come alive' when you approach them (the lady in the photo above is trying to wake up a butterfly), flying around inside their bulb and their wings clinking on the glass. I stayed for quite some time mesmerised by the sound and the way people would try and interact with the bugs.
Three. Will and I jumped on a train to Whitstable recently on a very sunny Sunday morning. We ate fish and chips and walked around the town centre and I got THIS close to convincing Will that we should buy a little beach hut. I posted some more photos over here.
Four. I ordered little seedlings for my garden (from here if you're in the UK and interested) and after the best mail day ever, I finally got to work. It was seriously overgrown with weeds - sorry allotment neighbours - and I learnt a terrible stinging nettle lesson that hurt SO bad. But I've planted all kinds of leafy veggies and can't wait for my first harvest.
So that's what I've been up to over the last couple of weeks! That and eating a lot of brownies, listening to many podcasts (this is my current fave), getting excited/organised for New York (I leave in less than a week!), and watching Empire and Catastrophe. What have you been up to of late? How do you navigate the waters of perfection/personality on your blog?
