Friends, it's time for our monthly(ish) heart to heart.
What I’ve been grateful for:
Being Alive. Being able to have new experiences, and being able to get pleasure from the tiny things in life - the exhaustion and strength I get from being active, a building wrapped in ivy or the squirrels jumping from tree to tree outside our window, the uncontrollable dancing this song causes. Gosh that sounds corny but I'm just having all these feels lately.
What I’ve been thinking about:
What to do with the elderflower I found growing on our street. So many possibilities! I've already infused some gin and I want to try drying some too for when the blossoms are gone.
Where to go to first. Obviously we have a ginormous list of dream destinations around Europe but we're definitely overthinking it all and just can't seem to pin down places for weekend travels. If you have suggestions please holla. Please.
What I’m excited for:
Getting back to work. I did some photography for a local café this week and almost forgot how good it is to work. More please.
What I’ve been doing:
Planting things. I've been propagating succulents, playing with kokedama, trying to grow avocados, chillies and spring onions in the flat and I have applied to look after a part of a new community garden going up in the area.
Crocheting - I've made a start on my goal to learn crochet this year and I'm hooked - pun totally intended. I'm not particularly good at it but it feels awesome to have learnt something completely new.
Meeting new people. All nice so far ;)
Hustling, emailing, and job searching. Turns out you don't just walk into a country and have a full schedule of work. It has actually been really hard and honestly a little depressing getting things started up this side again. I'm not giving up yet but I am looking at hospitality or admin part time jobs to get myself out in society at least. Not that I'm not hella good company, I've just already heard all my own jokes.
Exercising. I've been getting back into yoga and starting most days with a walk or run and it's exactly what I need after a pretty overindulgent couple of months. It's also a great way to focus and relieve the stress I've been accumulating without even realising.
Tell me about what you've been up to! Or better yet, why don't you join in?
