In celebration of their brand spanking new stores across the bridge in Chatswood Chase, Williams Sonoma (that is, the collective group of Williams Sonoma, West Elm, Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids) invited a handful of ladies to explore their new hood. And why yes, I totally scored myself a golden ticket to the affair!
Undeterred by the rainy weather, we met up bright and early and caught a ferry across to Kirribilly. Here we started the day's activities with coffee right on the ferry wharf at the very charming Anvil Coffee Co. By the way, this is pretty much my new favourite place in Sydney and if you haven't been there yet, GO. Or better yet, let's go together.
Next up was a brisk stroll to stock up on some sourdough and flowers. BYO umbrella and gumboots.
And then my dear friends, it was shopping time. We were whisked over to Chatswood Chase and lead through each of the stores where some people contained themselves better than others (ahem, Sneh - that girl can prop shop!) and we got to fill up our goodie bags with gorgeous gifts.
With our bags full and bodies in need of a recharge, we were asked to choose from 4 totally custom gelato flavours that Messina had made especially for the launch weekend, one for each store. It was not a decision I made lightly but I went with Fairy Bread on a stick (designed for Pottery Barn Kids of course) - that is, bread and butter gelato dipped in white chocolate and covered in sprinkles. If anyone wants to sign my petition to bring this flavour to Messina stores and my face permanently, please see me in my office after.
Our final destination was The Incinerator in Willoughby. The lovely folks there made us the most beautiful little sandwiches and salad which we fancily washed down with bubbles. And just when we thought it was all done, the gorgeous Dandy Moon whips out her ink and calligraphy brush for some custom lettering to go with our cronuts. Dreamy.
Thank you so much for a truly lovely day and spoiling us rotten, Williams Sonoma. For everyone else, it made me think how rarely I get out of my own area to explore around town. Let's do that more often okay?
