This is where I brain dump/pour my heart out/share monthly reflections of life. If you want to join in, skip on over here.
What I’ve been grateful for:
The opportunity to work on a dream project with my friend Nia. She asked me a while back to style and photograph for her online store The Assembly (to be launched in about a month's time). It really is every bit a dream come true to have such an amazing team, gorgeous products to play with and the trust and freedom to just do my thing. I really really can't wait for you guys to see it all!
What I’ve been thinking about:
London Calling. We've always wanted to move abroad and the timing is finally right. I'm terrified and excited beyond words and everything in between.
What I’m excited for:
My Birthday - today! As you read this I'll already have eaten too much cake and lazily doing all the things I like with the husband. I'm also excited about what the next year will bring! 27 was the year I learnt to poach an egg so I can't even imagine what wonderful things 28 will hold.
South Africa. Leaving on a jet plane tomorrow for the motherland. Two weeks of family catch ups can only be good for the soul right?
A few other projects in the pipeline. Including our creative getaway (read below) and a couple of other still hush hush secret squirrel things in the works.
What I’ve been doing:
Planning a Creative Getaway. I'm in cahoots with Nia to get 12 creatives under one roof for an entire weekend in September and it's shaping up to be the time of our lives.
Madly finishing things off before my trip. It's really surprising how much work there is in taking a 2 week trip! Scheduling blog posts, finishing all work due in August, and just general getting ready to be on another continent type things have been consuming me.
What I’ve been reading:
Honestly, not that much. But I HAVE been listening to podcasts though. You guys are all over The Lively Show right? Listening to it with a mug of tea while pinning and reading blogs has become a bit of a friday morning ritual. Another great podcast about the getting-paid-for-doing-what-you-love journey is Working Out.
What I’ve been spending money on:
Travel. Saving all my pennies to buy all the things in South Africa.
My business. I'm pretty sure (and really hope) I'm done buying equipment for a little while after another big month of expensive things.
Tell me about what you've been up to! Or better yet, why don't you join in?
