Happy new year beautiful friends!
I've been putting off getting back into blogging, clutching at the holidays for just a second longer, but as I started to write this I realised how much I missed you guys! So tell me what did you get up to? Any stories? I'll start..
I spent just over a week in Canberra where my husband and I slept in, rode our bikes around the lake, brunched, barbecued, went to the museum and napped in the sun. It was all kinds of lovely. In fact, I must have switched right off because I'm having some issues rebooting. Ideas and inspiration is swimming in my head but I can't quite seem to get my body to catch up to respond. Oh well.
To ease back into reality, this is a super easy snack that I just can't get enough of right now. They're more suggestions rather than recipes, so switch it up and make it your own with whatever you have on hand okay?
- Brewed Earl Grey Tea, black
- Elderflower Cordial
- Lemon and Thyme to garnish
Brew and chill your tea the night before, or at least a couple of hours ahead so that it has time to cool down. Fill a glass with ice and pour over some cordial (read instructions on the bottle for suggested ratio). Pour over tea, stir and taste. Add more cordial if required and top with lemon and thyme. For bonus points, drink from a pretty straw.
- Berries (I just use frozen berries, thawed)
- Chèvre (or Goat's Cheese)
- Crusty Bread
Toast bread, smear with cheese and top with berries. And um, eat. Maybe repeat?
Any suggestions for me to kickstart creativity? More toast?
