Hands up who's ready for a drink. Yeah, me three. And hey presto! Here's one that I prepared earlier. Serendipity right?
Now, I don't know about you but I feel like I'm officially too old for jelly shots. At least I'm too old for jelly shots from plastic shot glasses that you have to squeeze so hard they break and contain more vodka than jelly. So, being the resourceful gal that I am, I decided to make a grown up version of the jelly shot. I present to you: the jelly shot cocktail stick [crowd goes wild]. You're welcome my fellow non 18 - 22 year olds.
To make your own:
Keep an eye out for Signwin jelly at the Asian supermarket. I find that it sets really quickly and the flavours are great. It's also doesn't contain any gelatine so it's vegetarian (yay!). If you can't find it, any jelly will do.
Make the jelly using half the water indicated and add a splash of liquor (I used rum) before putting it into a mould to set. Don't be TOO generous as too much alcohol can inhibit the setting process. When it is nice and firm cut into small blocks and thread onto skewers. Keep in mind that this is jelly and it will melt if left out so make sure you leave the sticks in the fridge until needed. Cheers!
