Crystal Pear Galette

My name is Erika and I'm a mini-holic. I bought these crystal pears 100% based on cuteness. And I rarely bake or buy full sized desserts. Things just taste better in mini/funsize/bitesize. So if you can tell me if this is perfectly normal or suggest a support group that would be appreciated. 

On another note, can everyone please make their own pastry? It takes 4 minutes flat, cost 80c and changes everything. DO it!

  • 115g Flour
  • 20g Sugar
  • 90g Butter, cold and diced + 10g melted
  • 35g Water
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 10 Crystal Pears
  • Squeeze of Lemon Juice
  • Sprinkle of Brown Sugar

Using your hands, mix flour, cold butter and sugar until crumbly. You want some small chunks of butter in there for flakiness so don't overmix. Pour in water and vinegar and lightly knead until it comes together. Cling wrap and put in the fridge for about an hour.

Slice pears thinly and squeeze over some lemon juice then preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Roll dough out into a circlular shape and place pear slices on top (I made 2 smaller circles for reasons mentioned above). Fold in edges and pour over butter, then sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 30-40 mins or until golden then serve warm with cream or ice cream. And tea.
