I've been suffering from bouts of internet doubt lately. Do you get that sometimes?
I mean, it's pretty safe to say that EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD AND THEIR CAT has a blog. Or at least a super active social media account. And even though I really do think that there's room for all this on the internet, I get really self conscious sometimes.
I started this blog as a creative outlet and it mostly makes me very happy (also a little chubby). I definite didn't start this blog for fame and fortune and certainly not to compete with anyone (other than myself). I just wanted to come to the party, wear my pretty dress, meet some people and do some awkward moves on the dance floor. It's hard to remember this though when I look at others who make it all look so easy and are miles ahead. It makes me tired of trying so hard. Tired of talking to myself.
So I stuff my face with chocolate ice cream and watch multiple episodes of David Tutera's My Fair Wedding. I've also recently read this article which reminded me to stop hating on myself and that we are all so very different. And everyone has something unique to say. I mean, it's pretty exciting to be a tiny part of this internet thing in my own special way.
And I love your blog too. I definitely don't say that enough but let's encourage each other more and don't give up just yet okay?
On to the main event - truffles that are sweet, spicy and totally mouth melty.
- 250g Dark Chocolate
- 250g Cream
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1-2 tsp Szechuan Pepper, finely ground
- 50g Cocoa
Over low heat warm up cream until it just starts bubbling, then take off the heat and mix in chocolate until smooth and all chocolate has melted. Put in the fridge for (at least) a couple of hours until firm and workable. Meanwhile, mix together cinnamon, cocoa and pepper in a small bowl and set aside. Working quickly, roll chocolate into balls with your hands then cover in cocoa mixture. Put on a lined tray and refrigerate until just before serving.
