I can't hold on any longer you guys! I've officially started christmassing and will be doing a lot more over the coming weeks. This year is going to be a homemade one, with no decorations being bought (I always seem to get sucked in by the glittery balls!) and a long list of crafts to get through. First up, geometric ornaments. Because I really can't get enough of anything angular right now.
To make these babies, I used those little match sticks without the flammable heads that you get at craft stores and gave my glue gun a pretty good workout.
Basically (as per the illustration below), you start by making a square with four sticks, then stick another one to each corner to make a pyramid, then turn it over and stick one more to each corner to make a double pyramid or an octahedron (yes I googled that). If you're feeling adventurous you can keep going, putting two or more of these together or just randomly adding sticks to make different angles. To hang, just tie a bit of string, or bright red wool like I did.
Friends, remember I love seeing your stuff, so if you're making some be sure to tweet/instagram/facebook me!
