Fact: if unicorns existed they would poop Nutella. They would also cry champagne and sneeze sprinkles. And glitter would fit in there somewhere too. But let's not get too sidetracked here. Back to Nutella.
As it turns out, Nutella ice cream is dangerously easy to make as is this ice magic style Nutella shell. Apologise to your butt for me would you?
Oh and one more fact: everything tastes better in mini. Science man.
Nutella Ice Cream Cones
Nutella Ice Cream
- 2 cups Thickened Cream
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 1/2 tbs Coconut Butter (or oil) - this is what makes the shell set hard
For the ice cream, whip cream until thick then add in Nutella. Keep whipping until peaks are forming. Pour into a sealed container and freeze until hard.
For the nutella shell coating, melt nutella and coconut butter over low heat until runny.
To serve, scoop ice cream onto cones (I used mini cones*) then dip into Nutella coating. Sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts. The shell should harden within a couple of minutes.
YIELD: 12 mini cones
*Top tip: I couldn't find any mini cones so just broke the ends off regular sized waffle cones. The remaining cone bits makes for excellent crunch over ice cream.
